As most of us know the classic show "Keeping up Appearances" was filmed in parts of our city. Binley is where the Bucket family lived, or should I say "Bouquet".
Does any one remember what the building near the bottom of this picture was used in the making of? It was back in the 70's.
Always looking forward to looking at the past.

It was where Crossroads Motel filmed a part where (sorry, can't remember his stage name) that bloke in the wheelchair came out of hospital. This was the frontage of the hospital. That and the cardboard walls of the motel is really all I remember of the show. And of course "Hughie the cook". Does any one have any other fine examples ?
Always looking forward to looking at the past.

Sandy was in the wheelchair, I believe he was disabled in real life.
I remember Amy Turtle always forgetting her lines.
Meg Richardson who became Meg Mortimer and her Daughter Jill.
Would seem so corny now.
Oh just thought of Benny with his wooly hat and Miss Diane as he called her, think she was a waitress. |

Sorry, Baz - the Buckets lived in Binley Woods, a small village in Warwickshire, not in Binley, a suburb of Coventry, West Midlands ! |

The actor Roger Tonge played the disabled character (Sandy Richardson), but later in real life ended up in a wheelchair himself |

Rolf Harris had a series of programmes where he visited schools but I can't remember what it was called. Anyway, he filmed one episode at Hill Farm School and my sister was there at that time. She was born in 1967 so it would have been in the 70's. |

The Armstrongs was filmed in Coventry.
There was a scene from a police drama filmed in the old Cathedral a couple of years back.
A comedian (Emma Fryer?) filmed a TV series in Coventry - quite quirky and amusing. I think it was called 'Home Time'.
There was the unfortunate film "Lady Godiva: Back in the Saddle." that was filmed in Coventry. I don't know if it was ever released.
Some of Dr Who was filmed in Coventry a couple of years back (The Shakespeare Code episode)
Michael Portillo visited Coventry as part of his Train travels series.
Time Team did a show about Watchmakers in Chapelfields.
Time Team also did the 'dig' at the Benedictine Priory (Original Cathedral).
That bouncer chap did a film called 'Bouncer'
EDIT: It appears "Lady Godiva" was released in Poland!
