Canley Ford - the "Milk Bar"

My friends and I used to call in sometimes on the way to or from Devil's Dungeon. We always had a 'shake before doing the Canley Ford bicycle 'challenge'. Never realized that the area had any ecological importance back in the '60's, and a little surprised to see that it has now.

Fascinating Dutchman, where there's muck there's money so they say. Thanks for that.

Does anyone remember 1948-1950 Mrs Stokes goats ice cream Playing chequers, tennis singing, cycling Tim, Dave, Fred, Don Joyce, Pat et al?

I have fond memories of there. Used to love walking around that area

It must be 40 years ago since I saw a large sculpture at Canley Ford, has anyone any knowledge of this? Or a photo? It would solve a family query as no one remembers it. Thanks.

Just heard on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire radio that the Canley Ford Milk Bar metal sign has been stolen. What a shame. That place has so much history. Facebook link.

That is a shame Garlands, perhaps they should be looking for it at the scrapyards or car boots. Nothing surprises me anymore, sad to say.

That was the first place that I ever had a milkshake with ice cream in it !!
