Morning everyone! Hope the sun comes out to play today. I've made good progress on the Dirty Stop Outs Guide to 1970s Coventry book and had some lovely input from some forum members, all will be acknowledged. I want to attach the 'dummy' cover of the book - it's not the final version and the pic in the middle is just generic. I would love to have a great Cov pic right there - does anyone have anything they think would fit the bill, a group of friends in the 70s with a Cov backdrop? Also Parson's Nose has to be mentioned on the front, naturally! I'd like to make a general call for pics/photos from the 70s. Anything used will be acknowledged. Hi folks, it's Ruth again, hope you're well today after a very windy night! I'm still on the prowl for pics of Coventry in the 70s. Final call! Would love to see you, friends and family out and about around the city, pubs or clubs, cafes, shops. Nightlife can also be day-life! Just want to really illustrate all the things going on in the city during that decade. Hi Forum Posters and Readers! The Dirty Stop Outs Guide to 1970s Coventry is nearly ready- off to the printers soon. I will be doing a book signing event at Waterstones in the Precinct on November 9th, 2-3pm. Do come and say hello if you can and have a look at the book. It will be available at some point in the local history centre in the Herbert and Cov Library. All the best and thanks to all those on the forum who have helped me with this venture. Ruth

It was lovely to finally meet Ruth on Thursday, whose book signing event appeared to be going extremely well. The book is packed with photos and memories that will strike a chord with many readers. There are also many individuals acknowledged on the back page of the book - many of whose names I recognise..... if you want to know if your name is among them, then you'd better buy a copy!

I love reading this topic. It gets the "Brill" award.

The Historic Forum was the first place I looked when I started my research for this book and I found so many relevant threads, information and of course great people who were happy to share their memories and pics with me I'm really thankful to you and them and this site. Keep up the great work! And do enjoy the book
