Thanks Philip, Meerkat and Neils yard, I did nearly drop it going from Kenilworth down Crackley Lane at 9.30 on Monday, a big sheet of black ice on a left hander, the only reason I went down there was to take a photo of the LNWR railway bridge, but it was worth it, sometimes winter time can be nice in pursuit of local history but I was glad to get back home to a hot mug of tea. Smile

Hi again, Catshed. As well as your piece of mechanical art work, the over-bridge crossing the road at an angle bears another piece of art work. So much civil engineering mathematics went into the design of the bridge, more so because of the angle to the road. I often stare at the under-arch brickwork paterns of odd angled bridges, which need to able to transfer the top weight equally throughout, spreading it to the end parapet ends which bear the full load. I love the locations that you choose to show your bike. Bril. That is an art in itself, as I am sure our other forum photographers will applaud you, as I do, Cheers for theirs also. Thumbs up

Philip, I'll keep it brief for fear of being told off for straying off topic about the original title, but yes I marvel at all the skill and design that's gone into a bridge down a country lane that not many will ever see or appreciate, I call them 'skew' bridges and the first time I noticed one was at Fenny Compton with all the bricks jutting out at an angle.... oops I mentioned Fenny Compton and its not in Cov, I'd best behave and let the subject get back on track (pardon the pun) Big grin

I can see you are proud of 'The Bike' Catshed and admire your courage on the roads in such weather. Bet you enjoyed the ride though - great pictures too. Thanks. Hope you enjoyed your visit Dougie, lovely winter views. Some more like that would be nice. Thumbs up

Morning Philip, It never ceases to amaze me just how much you absorb in your minds eye. You are a stickler for detail as it shows in OUR railway. Who else would think of observing a bridge who for some would pass under it almost every day ? Your brain will never wear out Philip and don't say it will because I won't believe you. Thumbs up

Not exactly a "winter wonderland" but our first covering of snow this morning - this is the view from our windows

Hi all Wave The view from our lounge window looking the length of our cul-de-sac. It is snowing heavier now than when I drove Pam to the surgery at 6.30 this morning.

Kenilworth Road looked absolutely fantastic the other morning with the first snow. I was on my way home from the nightshift so could not get a photo. May take a walk in the expected all day downfall on Friday! Big grin Apologies to those that don't appreciate the white stuff, but I love it!
