I attended the meeting last night and everyone was shocked at how much damage had been caused. A question was asked as to how the fire-rated soft play composite (the black scorched area in the photos) could be so badly damaged and it would appear that some sort of accelerant may have been used Sad

Yes - if they did that, then perhaps parents would take their responsibilities more seriously Oh my

I just don't believe it!! Angry Angry Angry For the second time, the new play area has been vandalised, just a week after being re-opened after the fire that caused £18,000 worth of damage. Coventry Telegraph report Somebody, somewhere, needs to be held responsible for the actions of the culprits. If they can only slap the wrists of any "children" involved then their parents should be accountable for their offsprings actions! This is just NOT acceptable.

Send the culprits out here, I know where they could be held, a nice cosy little cell, no aircon and in full sun. Roll eyes straight off the boat after a harrowing journey. Roll eyes

Hello Mick Strong; Were you ever able to locate your 1961 football team photo? I would love to see that. Thanks.

Tom Windsor was very good artistically, painted very well and usually finished at the top of the class with Irene Richardson second.

I was showing this image to some teenage students this afternoon and one of them suggested the flats were going to be knocked down and replaced by houses. The flats are I think in Donegal Close and as can be seen overlook the fields. Can anyone confirm this?

Question

This whole area behind Donegal Close appears to be included in the planning application made for the development on the Sir Henry Parkes School site in Prior Deram Walk. Although tracking down just what they plan to do here might take a little more time as it looks like it's covered by "Condition 13" in the original application. If you click this link, move the map to locate Donegal Close, then tick the "Planning current" box over on the right, you will see the whole area light up in red (which indicates planning permission has been granted). Click somewhere in that area for a pop-up box to appear with more information.

I've put together some findings about the planning and building of the Canley estate, interwoven with a few personal memories. This is now online on the Municipal Dreams website. Canley started off with great ideals and the houses around Queen Margaret's Road were positively commented on. Part 2 follows soon. Any inaccuracies are purely my own! I think it's bottom of Donegal Close. Didn't there used to be garages there?
