Maybe our members can help with a little tester. My dad recently gave me a bundle of old photos and documents. Among these was my own identity card, issued in January 1948 by the National Registration Office. Our original address is recorded as Whaleys Croft, Coventry QDA and subsequently Whoberley Hostels, Coventry QDA. Anyone any idea what the acronym QDA stands for? |

I have just dug out mine issued 1947 that my mum had kept and that also says Coventry QDA. I have found my husbands as well, he lived in Tamworth and there are no letters after that so it looks like it was something specific to Coventry but I have so far not been able to find anything about it ! |

I did find a site that referred to the "Whitley Hostel" as having QDA after its address. Maybe something to do with "Hostels"? |

It's the NHS area code for the Coventry enumeration district as on this list. |

Well played Mcsporran! I assumed that QDA was an acronym and so had been wasting my time trying to make a sensible three word phrase. Thanks, I was confident a forum member would crack it. |
