I think Hits and Misses changed their name to Mushroom Records and it went downhill. I spent many an hour in there searching for old Prog rock albums by the likes of Blodwyn Pig, Camel and Caravan!
I always thought Earlsdon high street would be a good place for a record/CD shop... The current retail offering there is... odd.
Hits & Misses became Magic Mushroom - a sort of 'head shop' with clothes & incense, and then Found Nation - which was more dance based music. I bought TONS of Prog in there cheap between 1976 - 2002 !
I remember the Fennells in Earlsdon high st - up the top. They had loads of original rare albums in the back they bought out and sold cheap when they closed c1977. I bought some John Mayall and Cream albums - original 60s pressings !
There was also Oblivion Records in Earlsdon high st during the early 80s, run by Graham Bradshaw who also sorted the Burnt Post Folk Club and did PA hire. Was new & secondhand but only open for a couple of years.
