Well, that's prompted some memories!
Whilst on my way to Gosford Park Infant / Junior school in the fifties I would pop into the shop in Hollis Road to buy lemon sherbets or some sweet or other. Owned by George, who used to wear the ubiquitous brown cow gown. In Bolingbroke there were two shops and of course Mrs Hirons'(?) emporium on Humber Road, torches, cycle lamps, batteries and bulbs. Hey ho.
