When I pick my grandchildren up from St Christopher's primary school, Brookside Avenue entrance, we pass over a brook, sadly I am not able to tell them the name of this brook. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Hi LadyDay, welcome to the forum
I've checked all the maps that I've got and can't find a name for it. Hopefully someone else can help.

Hello Helen,
I've been looking as well. Any water drainage there will become part of the brook system that eventually feeds into the Sherbourne but like you, I cannot find a name.
I'm still looking.
In the meantime.
River Sherbourne
This website has a map that comes very close.
It might be part of the Pickford brook drainage.
When we've finished with this, suggest we file it with our Sherbourne river topic.
Maybe this could be a school topography project that we've just invented!

I agree with that Helen, it is shown on that little map as going past the school. There also a Guphill Ford Bridge marked on old maps.

Has the brook been covered over from the corner of Allesley Old Road opposite the junction of Grayswood Avenue until it appears next to number 344 Allesley Old Road?

Hello,
I don't know.
During building work, if a stream or brook is being used as a boundary, or if construction goes over it, piped diversions are common place, so without seeing the construction plans, (even if they were adhered to) just looking at the Pickford brook drainage area, sections do appear to have been straightened.
I do believe that Helen has answered the question with a name.
Only the darker blue is given the name Sherbourne. The other three lighter colours may have local names that only mean anything to that generation. Sections of the Sowe where I lived in the north of the city, I knew as named sections, but that was when I played around them as a child.
Thank you for your question. I've always liked the subject of topography & maybe a topographical forum meet up with a bite at one of the eateries nearby if the sun comes out to play one day.
