Hi all, My vision being reasonable this morning, I've added detailing to our new Stanier mogul loco. It's the most sophisticated Bachmann steam loco, tender axle pickups to boot. I'm uplifted today, in fact cock-a-hoop, the great news of the safe return of one of our friends from a cruise. Not just their safe return, but the fact that their cruise was completed without incidents. Wahay, brill, brill & brill. A visiting lady to our railway years ago, Helen, described it as a dolls village. I loved that, as she started to move some of the figures around.

Hi all, As long as my vision is reasonable, I love picking up on what I started, but had to refrain if my vision went down. I love our railway to be a community, local & part of where we are. I picked up this toad brake van, in a model shop scrap box ages ago. Anyway, a bit of glue, loads of paint & the printer to print the depot name Netherfield, being a corruption of two Radford Streets, Priorsfield & Nethermill. Both of those locations exist in our railway. I added the painted tail lamp to complete. I hope you like.

Philip, do you think that if we appointed you to construct HS2 in your living room, you could do it quicker and cheaper?

I don't know but the buffet car would have an excellent menu.

OVERUNNING WEEKEND ENGINEERING WORK. Mineral wagon traffic now minimal, but increased demand for groceries, has meant the need for increased van loading & unloading platform space. The wagon siding has now been electrified, so as to stable EMUs out of platforms. This lockdown is having far reaching consequences, even into Hall Brooks. Third rail EMU, rests in the wagon load siding. This happened during crisis situations in real life. When not in use, the power was isolated from these areas, to prevent electrocution accidents.

On a real issue, not fiction in my mind, the Southern Region of British Rail had designs on reaching the Midlands. Parliament interrupted those plans with widespread railway boundary changes in 1957. At this point in time, the Southern had already reached Cheltenham, having their own station into the bargain. The station was called St James, bang in the middle of Cheltenham, not like the current Cheltenham station that, for all practical purposes, might as well be in Scotland, it's so far out.
