Hi. Adolph Dabrowski was my dad, I was born in Leigh Street.
We lived on Wheatley Street and moved out a few months before the area was demolished in 1969. |

Is this Victoria Street? My grandparents owned the Singer sewing machine repair shop on this street. |

Hi TPot
In 1937 the Singer Sewing Machine Agency was at number 4, north side of the road. It was roughly where 9A (from above but from the street view it's number 5 and 5A) is today, though there was no front garden then. It was to the west of a Co-op chemist at the time - link
The image below is from this photo from Britain From Above. The big factory is the Singer Factory. Beyond it is St Peter's Church and Charles Street. Then the next street is Victoria Street. If you sign up for a free login you can zoom in.

It's the yellow painted building in the distance on the right hand side of this picture from Coventry Digital.
And to the right of centre in this one.

Do you have approximate dates for these two photos? |

Sorry Linda, no. I tend to only classify photos as new (last 40 years), old (40 years ago to WW2), scrummy (pre war). |

The upper picture has to be 1967 or after. There is a white Vauxhall Victor FD towards the back of the picture, this model was introduced in 1967. There are also a couple of Ford Cortina Mark 2 models and a Vauxhall Viva HB both introduced in 1966. |

'G' Reg was 1968/69 and 'H' was 1969/70 so that puts the photograph as after August 1969. Pity I could not read the numberplates, either need a better monitor or a visit to Specsavers. |

Similar views before, but this one shows how well used the Triangle was with all those gardens. Can't have been long before its demise.

Sad sights but interesting to see the comparison photos of Primrose Hill Street / Vine Street etc.

An area very familiar to me, but can anyone tell me what years these pictures were taken? Question |

I don't know but some key features would be - in the first photo, they were in the process of building Priory Hall on Fairfax Street, which was 1966. On the second photo, the exterior of building Civic Centre 4 looks nearing completion (built 1971-73) and the Sidney Stringer school in the middle ground was opened in 1972. |
