Hillfields

This picture is in The Graphic dated 28th May 1914 and the caption sys, Site for the Globe Picture Theatre (Branch of the Crown, Gosford Street). Other articles then say that the Globe is in Primrose Hill Street ? In April 1914 ejection orders were issued against the residents of 53,54,,55,56,and 57 Primrose Hill Street which were wanted for the erection of the Globe Picture House. When the demolition was taking place building workers were on strike but about 17 workers were given jobs to carry out the demolition but they had to pay 1s per day to the strike fund.
