They say that smell is possibly the strongest trigger of memories and I believe it. I never met Pam but miss her on your behalf.
Pam would be very impressed with that salad. Very professional but for top marks you need to sprinkle some edible flower petals over the top. |

Sometimes the simplest food is the tastiest! I do love salad + salad cream and a warmed fresh crusty baguette! |

Good afternoon,
I enjoyed Sunday lunch at my local today, The New Parkgate Pub.
This was fabulous. Prepared to order, so a Timothy Taylor kept me nourished whilst waiting for dinner.
What a pip! |

Yum. I'm very partial to a roast dinner with copious amounts of gravy. That's a very decent sized meal. I'm hoping that self serve Toby roasts come back before long because I prefer to choose my veg. |

Hi.
Kind of advertising I suppose, but the ready made up salad in my Morrison's home delivery was very good value that I enjoyed last week. One in this week's current order. I tipped a bag of crisps into it whilst watching Heartbeat on Friday. Cheaper than popcorn, but was like being at the movies. Gosh, don't I know how to live it up, hey! |

Sounds good, Phil. I saw enough salad in my last job though, worked there for 6 years. I did get myself on the dressing tasting panel though. |

Hi all, it's get your aprons on time.
No pictures because I had eaten it too fast.
A soft eating apple, I peeled the skin off & cored it. Chopped it well, then instead of a saucepan, I used the microwave to heat & reduce it to a pulp, to which I added just a teaspoon of golden syrup. Mixed it well, with just a few more short microwave blasts. Then from my Morrison's order yesterday, I add a handful of fresh blackberries. I left them whole, no attempt to mix, with another thirty seconds in the microwave.
I then added boiling water to half a packet of my Morrison's instant custard.
I'm telling you, it nearly blew my mind, a glorious five minute pudding.
I'm determined this spring to get the hang of doing pastry, totally beyond me at present.
I tell you, Pam would have loved it too.
PS. I've another soft apple, the rest of the blackberries, with tomorrow evening's big tele-in-night.
I have my own bramble bushes full of blackberries in the autumn, that the birds had the lot last autumn. They will form an orderly queue this year!
My postings like this are second nature to most of you, but to me it's all new. I don't have a little lady running around anymore. |

Have a go at the pastry Phil. Roy had never done it before but had I go while I was "resting", he finished up making the Christmas mince pies. Just don't mess with it too much and put it in the fridge for half an hour before rolling it out. |

Hi Phil. Suet pudding is good to make in the microwave. It cooks in 6 or 7 minutes.
That would go really well with apple and blackberries.
I know microwaving suet pudding is sacrilege to traditionalists but it's amazingly easy that way. |

Philip. Might I suggest that you learn to make basic mug cakes in your microwave? Once mastered, you can add in all sorts of things. |

Does the batter matter!
To be taken three times a day with syrup.
Mixing bowl washed & away, enough batter for five medium thick pancakes.
Don't I just love it! |

Hi all,
I attached a huge memory regards the pancake post. As far as I can accurately remember, the last food that Pam made & cooked was pancakes last year. She struggled with the energy of tossing, but that was it. She loved pancakes as indeed I did & do.......
I'm grateful that I have the most happy of thoughts on this, which I'm sure comes from inside of me. I can't wait for tea time today. |
