I agree with you Slim,
The Queen's funeral was the last main channel event that I watched at home, the King's coronation I watched whilst enjoying breaky at the Wallace.
I enjoy the minority interest stuff, where the quality & programming, editing & production skills available free to view on YouTube often exceed anything from mainstream channels.
The only mainstream stuff for me at present is wireless, sorry, radio! |

Re the Gunpowder Plot documentary on Channel 5 recently. It could easily have had more details - like princess Elizabeth being protected in Coventry - and been better for it. TV has become boring. I'm not sure whether that's because I've already heard so much or because TV has dumbed down. I partly suspect that we're already so well served that it's hard to impress us. Whenever I come across the Coventry Mystery Plays I'm reminded of how bad entertainment used to be. Because we have access to so much TV that was made in the past, the best thing that TV makers can do is provide originality. That's struggling compared to the infinite variety of the internet. |

I expect that most local Coventrians have seen this video on youtube, a piece from The Great British Dig. I thought that it could have been made more interesting however. Biggin Hall |
