I'm not sure that any of my childhood sweet favourites are completely unchanged. . Mars bars had thicker caramel on the top. Some of the biscuits are the same eg KitKat and Bourbon biscuits and shortbread. There are now so many temptations.

Hi Philip. As for chocolate it has to be Cadbury's Fruit & Nut or Mint Aero. But just lately, I have rediscovered Jelly Beans !!!!

I don't like nuts or coconut so I opt for a Biscuit and raisin yorkie so I get the crunch but not the nuts. I am afraid I am a chocolate addict but being diabetic I have to restrict myself to just one or two portions. (Of almost any chocolate)

I've just rediscovered Bounty bars after over 60 years, they're indistinguishable to me after all that time.

Hello, I feel in such lovely company with all you lovelies. Bounty bars have always been my favourite, but contain loads of sugar, so I have to restrict my memories. Thank you for your sweet memory sharing. Please keep your memories coming.

As a child, did anyone else like Wagon Wheels?

I liked Wagon Wheels until started to appreciate quality over quantity. I realised that I didn't actually like marshmallow, despite the affordability of such a large snack. Tunnock's Teacakes went the same way. Bounty Bars are under threat because coconut has fallen out of favour with the young.

Another Bounty Bar lover here but I swear they have shrunk in size. Two is never enough for me. I have never eaten a Wagon Wheel. That's the first time I have heard comments about coconut and I like coconut slice. Smile

I am surprised that Coconut is out of favour with the young. My grandaughter hs asked for some perfume for her 16th birthday called lait de coco, which apparently is perfumed like coconut. Perhaps they prefer to smell it rather than eat it !

Isn't it a popular ingredient in Thai curry? Perhaps it's popular with those who eat healthily but that's not compatible with Bounty? Or it could just be a rumour put about by the manufacturer to panic people to buy more? Roll eyes

It does translate as coconut milk which I do believe is in Thai food. I think the only coconuts we saw as kids were from the fair. Dad would drill a hole in it. As I said I don't like coconut anyway. There seems to be a lot of products based on coconut.

It's the 24hour media. If they don't make stars out of everybody, what would they have to show/write about? The anti stars are even more bankable for the media. People love to hate stars more than they love stars.

Back in the 1960s Andy Warhol said "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes" Well he was obviously exaggerating for dramatic effect but he was right up to a point. With the internet 'news' about anyone who is even vaguely 'famous' is flashed across the world in seconds. This is why we have so-called celebrity culture. What I find laughable is when a reality show comes up most of the 'celebrities' are completely unknown to me!!
