Is that the road to Balsall Common. There are always cones along there. |

That's the Warwick bypass, Anne.
Our central heating has come on full blast, as it has most days this week. |

Yes ours has come on but the solar has managed to send some to the grid this month. The road was not the one I thought then but not far away. You could have waved to our daughter as you zoomed past on the bus as she lives not far away |

Helloooooo,
One of the reasons that I so enjoy our forum, is the variations in themes, all connected by Coventry.
I've never been a member of any other website because so many of my interests are so narrow. The exception being F/B where I do share mostly location memories of trainspotting with mostly equally minded folk.
Last week, I shared my first pub experience. My first regular restaurant experience was at the Alpha Restaurant in Jordan Well. I've no pictures & can't find any of the Alpha. It was a front faced nissan hut, the food was lovely. My new bird loved it in 1965.
So, how nice now, to be relaxing after an Asiana delivered curry, washed down with a couple of glasses of red, whilst catching up on the goings on in our forum.
PS. Any pictures of the Alpha! Anyone!

You're going to have to narrow the location down a bit for us. Was it amongst these?

Hi Helen,
No. The opposite side, near to where Rosie's is now.
Thank you. |

Not a well covered area. Can you see it in this one?

I'll keep my eye open for something better.
Phily mod!
It's the tiny building next to the white building that looks like an office filing cabinet or a tower computer. |

Hello,
I am grateful for the effort of trying to find pictures of the Alpha Restaurant, that I can just make out on the high up photo. Earlier comments state that it was called the Blouse Box.
Thank you.

My first dinner date with Pam, was Saturday 5 June 1965, but I had frequented the Alpha prior to that. It was a first for Pam.
I sound like boring Timkins in a sketch from the Two Ronnies. I can remember the price of the beef curry, 4/3d, old money. The fillet steak 7/6d old money. Pam often had the Chicken Maryland. 6/- old money.
The beef curry resembling the Vesta packet curry with a few bits of apple & fruit mixed in.
We nearly always finished up with a banana split. |

I fall head over heels for you constantly.
That's it. Who could ever imagine that curved corrugated roof building could be a romantic setting for two young fledglings like Pam & me.
Thank you so much! |

Post 60 in the Jordan Well topic, posted by Kaga in 2016 shows a shot of the area, I think the building you are looking for is a small one in the middle, Philip, it is a BFA so not very clear. |

Thank you Anne,
It's certainly there on post photo 65, a side photo, but it might still have been the Blouse Box.
Also, the filing cabinet building that I call it, has only recently been demolished, Helen. |
