Hello,
Whilst deliberating my ponderous thoughts in Coventry centre today, two of our forum celebs came into view.
Please don't ask for details, as level six clearance is required. Besides, they had enjoyed breaky in Coventry market cafe, whilst I was making my way in similar fashion to enjoy a proper chicken curry. It was beautiful. Hong Kong style.

Today's Coventry Telegraph tells me that the Playwright Cafe at the canal basin is back open for business. This may be of interest to a travelling moderator? |

Hello,
Unless there is a specific canal basin event, the area lacks footfall. So the only folk going to the cafe are those intending to go to the cafe. Reaching the canal basin, involves walking, it's not integrated with public transport. The nearest bus access is either Radford Rd, or Foleshill Rd, both of which involves walking.
That's about the best way that I can describe it. It's currently out on a limb. |

Today's Coventry Telegraph reports on a serious fire which badly damaged the Cottage Inn at Fillongley during the early hours of this morning.
Unfortunately no more liver lunches for the time being, not that I would be tempted.
Hopefully this historic building can be rebuilt. |

There's a high chance of seeing an aurora tonight in Scotland. Less chance as you go down the country but it's still possible. |

Hello,
I have said night night on another topic, but as I was simmering with my cocoa, I just wondered how odd it would be if our forum was divided into time zones.
Those online as I'm writing this are all from the UK, so would I be saying to you "Last one out, put lights out please", as we handover to our overseas members & correspondents.
Oh dear, maybe my cocoa wasn't strong enough.
Ok. Last one, please switch the lights off.

Hello,
I've had a very busy out & about day today. On the way home, I popped into my local Asiana restaurant, very busy on a Friday & I'm certainly not in the mood for rushing. I might eat there tomorrow evening.
So I'm home, stated at a fridge full of all sorts when I decided to boil a few small potatoes just to eat with a knob of butter.
Does anyone else have odd notions like me!?! |

Hello,
Some towns on the South Coast are charging an accommodation levy for visitors of around £2 per night. What if we in Coventry charged a levy for visitors of say £50, rising to £100 per night in areas like Stoke & Holbrooks.
On with your avocado on toast. |

Not really rambling further afield but I recently went to see Witness for the Prosecution at County Hall in London. The building was fantastic for staging a court based play and the seats were the most comfortable I've ever sat on in public. The GLC knew what was what... for botties anyway. |
