That's the one. It was there at least as far back as 1819 but I've never worked out why they thought it was Roman.

The roofer says 'yes but'. It's not one of those jobs where they put up a big tent so he's very much at the mercy of the weather. Frost, rain and high wind cause problems.

I'll put in for that day. We can amend and change with a few days of notice. Good luck with the roof.

Well we have another 500 signed up to Cov Dig just today, and lots of contact which will take the weekend to get through. Plus, the boys are identified as Liam and Peter Farrell, from Gilbert Street. Needs confirming though.

Can't see any Farrell's listed in the 1953 or '57 Directories in Gilbert Street Ben? Do we know the year of the pic?

Dear all I've placed some equipment at Coventry Archives, and on Saturday 3rd June between 1000-1200 I invite you all to help me scan the Wingrave plates. I'm encouraging the archive to retain its Saturday morning opening for scanning of assets. I cannot always be there, but with some training of the staff, plus a list of chosen assets to scan (1851 BoH map documents Helen?), we should add a great deal to Cov Dig rather quickly of people are up for it. Do let me know if you are able to attend.
