Yes I am also a 2 weeker. As we are both recuperating at the moment we have separate rooms so it works better, I could not manage 2 beds in one go. As a kid I remember sheets and blankets not duvets and mum used to take off the bottom one, put the top on the bottom and a clean one on the top. Duvets stopped all that. We also had worn out sheets turned sides to middle. I bet no one does that any more. |

In our household, I change and wash/iron the sheets as my wife still works 4 days a week. She's a few years younger I might add! I'm usually a 'ten dayer' but fortnightly on some occasions. |

You're a gem of a hubby. I sometimes reflect & think that Pam did far too much, but on balance, she wouldn't have had it any other way. She didn't have to go to work, but she enjoyed it.

Do you just put neaps and tatties on the plate and the haggis are naturally attracted or do you lure them in with a bit of bagpipe music or are they herded towards the plate by a well trained sporran? Away, away, come-bye, och aye! |

Hi all,
For anyone that lacks experience of haggis.
Haggis is very nourishing & lovely flavoured food. It's not a Scottish version of a beef burger. Yes, it has sheep offal in it, but blended with oatmeal & seasoning. The traditional cooking is for it to be boiled, but for sassenachs, sliced & fried, part of a breaky, it's fabulous.
I had another delivered with my grocery order last week, which will be my breaky along with either a poached or fried egg. Yummy.
Haggis Recipe, traditional.
Hope you enjoy.

I'm afraid that good sausages are the closest I get to offal based foods. It may be school that put me off but it did a really thorough job of it. |

Good afternoon,
I was enjoying a latte in the Belgrade this morning, whilst waiting for my escort-client whose appointment was a last minute cancellation. I was tempted to try one of their salad dishes, when my mind was diverted to my fridge at home, where I have a lettuce that needs using, as well as all of the fresh ingredients to make my own mixed salad. What a bit of sunshine does!
The result was so scrummy. I added fresh cooked salad potatoes, grated cheese & a hard boiled egg. There's sufficient left in a sealed container for a sandwich later. The whole lot cost around £1.50, which compares very favourably with dining out.
Have a good day all.
PS. As well as I may appear to be coping on my own, I don't think that I will ever get used to walking back into home, not being greeted by the aroma of baking, the smell of polished surfaces & so on & all that is part of a life-long dedicated companion. Spoilt I certainly was, which is why it could never happen again.

That looks lovely Phil, and very healthy. I have just gone the unhealthy way. I used to make my bread, I have not done it for a while, I made some a couple of weeks ago and it turned out little better than a brick so I froze it. Today I turned it into a bread pudding and it smelt and tasted lovely. Have not made one for years! |
