Hi all
I came the nearest in my life to buying a Range Rover today. WHAT!
Part of my out and about today saw me on the the 900 bus, travelling towards the Harvester restaurant in Allesley. Can you imagine my delight when the most delightfully presented lady came and sat with me on my seat. We even shared a greeting.
Now look! You all know me, short stubby with a wobbly walk, so such a delight for me is a very rare event. Anyway, she smelt nice too. I was not going to miss this treat, as we motored passed the Harvester. Who needs a Harvester! So here I was, on a bus having decided to go wherever this lady was going. She did not have luggage, so I had ruled out Birmingham airport, so having just plucked up courage to ask her, she announced that she was getting off at the next stop, which was adjacent to the Guy Salmon dealership. I should have said that mine was on the Fletch!!!! My reward was a very nice lunch at the Bull in Meriden, as I simmered back down to just being who I am.
Shh! Don't say a thing, Pam is just coming back from a ladies coffee and cake afternoon. Shhhh! |

Hi all
Whilst recording some model railway pictures, I could hear my Pam & our neighbour in conversation sat outside in our front garden. So with my railway camera in hand, this is what followed.
Neighbours don't come much better than Joan. In fact the only dubious neighbour in the entire cul-de-sac is me!

Hi Midland Red, Hi all
Our toasted bacon butty at the Belgrade this morning would even make Mr Arkwright (Open all hours) stutter, the quality and relaxed and unrushed atmosphere, all just perfect. Just the two of us this morning. |

Hi all, Hi Midland Red
It's Friday, Costa morning at the Ricoh. A Bramley Apple slice beckons this morning. Notice, not bacons.
Have a good day all.
PS. They have to sell papers one way or another, hey! Even if it's a load of sploop!

Hi all
Work in progress.
This retaining wall job has been on the order books for a long while, but as is my experience, someone who is worth their salt, is usually in great demand.

Hi all
Friday morning sees the retaining wall complete, with the heavy rain forecast for later actually wanted, so as to wash the path, the work was done yesterday during long periods of drizzle.
Once the rain has washed the path, & hoping that we get some dry weather, we can then sort this area of the gardens into order. Our forum is not a commercial advertising web-site, but it is nice to be able to pay tribute to a very hardworking & capable gardening team who have been visiting our home once a fortnight since the spring. I have a fresh excitement for our gardens, the same as I did when I was young & am looking forward to what the coming year brings.

I have to report that there is something seriously wrong with "Our Philip".
So serious in fact that he missed out on his regular Wednesday Belgrade bacon butty this week.
And you can't get much more serious than that.
Actually, he's had a cold and been under the weather, but he's now out and about, accompanying the ladies of Coventry and its environs on the keyboard as they enjoy their Christmas festivities.
Glad you're feeling a bit better, my good friend. |

Hi and thank you
The second cold in a just a few months and today's play-date was my first time out in over a week. I kept myself to the piano during a lunchtime sing-along, not wishing to infect over a hundred elderly folk, plus the catering staff. The highlight was a visit by the junior choir from Whitmore Park school, accompanied by their guitar playing teacher. That was worth listening too. In fact, Brill, brill and brill! |

Sorry to hear you were not up to scratch Philip. Fit and well for Christmas though, thank goodness.
