Does anyone know about this place? It's showing on the 1906 map just west of where today's junction is with Nod Rise, so presumably where the area takes its name but I've no idea what it was or what the name refers to? I have found references to a Mount Nod farm so presume it's that? Has just always seemed an unusual name.

A lot of places were named after the person living there when the map was made. eg I'm looking for Hough's hovel and field. So maybe there was a Nod family? Alternatively the place could be named after the Land of Nod with both biblical and literature connections. There is also a burial ground in south London called Mount Nod which is connected to the Huguenots.
