You make me laugh at times Morgana. Have you been watching 'Merlin' lately. Well, at least she is a good witch but has evil powers. Rob is keeping quiet these days, I think he is letting us go for it on our own, now isn't that nice of him? Happy

Cackle cackle Oh my Lol Dreamtime I only use to use good powers, there is a good reason I call my self Morgana, I use to fortune tell for free even people from the Jag use to be bought to my house by one of their elderly fellow man worker, also Walsgrave hospital staff, my parents are both Welsh, yes there is good and evil powers, Jesus used them if you study from connections, he drove the madness from the mad man into the swine who drowned in the sea bit like what goes around come around saying. Smile I think little Merlin Rob is busy with work and his lovely family but yes it s so kind of him to let us go it on our own. Big grin .

I'm in touch with Mike's son Tony via the Lotus Forums as I have an Esprit.... Tony was born in Browns Lane when his Dad was at the Jag! Mikes had some health issues lately which forced his retirement from Lotus. Still gets about though and I made him aware I was a Cov-kid too!
Rather more to it than that, but not for the forum. Mike in a (much) previous life worked for the Rootes rally department under Des O'Dell, too. (Now there's a good old Coventry name for you!!! Lol ) As I remember, Mike was a Jaguar apprentice.

I'm guessing that was probably Hazel O'Connor? I just love the fantastic saxophone in her song "Will You" by the way. So atmospheric.

I 'stumbled' across Hazel performing a free live concert in the Lower Precinct a few months ago, Rob, on a Saturday afternoon. It was all fund-raising in aid of the Myton Hospice where her mum recently passed away. Her backing band included her brother Neil, and she did 'Will You' Thumbs up

OK, I'm rather envious now! Did the current saxophonist do the song justice? I found a female saxophonist doing Will You on YouTube a while ago, and although she played it virtualy note perfect it just didn't have the incredible "feeling" that the original had. It's an instrument I've never had a chance to try, but I would guess it's extremely difficult to master.

That bit was improvised by Wesley McGoogan who is also credited as co-author of the song.

It was actually 11 months ago - nearing last Christmas Rob! It was an acoustic set so no sax I'm afraid. Here it is. I was on the opposite side looking down from the top by where Browns used to be. I didn't know anything about it until we were walking through the Precinct and I heard her voice! Thumbs up

Video Four more plaques added to the Wall of Fame on Monday at 2 Tone Village which is located at the Courtyard, just off Walsgrave Road in the heart of Ball Hill (entrance on Walsgrave Road just up from the Fern Leaf Chinese Restaurant). Inductees were Pauline Black, Lieutenant Pigeon, Hazel O'Connor and Pete Chambers. Nominations are being taken for the next acts to go on the wall. Can be nominated at libraries in the city or visit the 2 Tone Central website for more info: 2 Tone Central Pete Chambers, his wife Julie and small band of dedicated volunteers are behind all this. The village has a great cafe / restaurant called "Simmer Down" (which serves Afro-Caribbean and British food) and a museum and shop (the Museum was at the Cov Uni Students Union building near the Cathedral but has now relocated).
