If and when our MP's have a meeting with the EFL let's hope the EFL take notice and have the guts to remove the Golden Share from SISU and give it to someone who is interested in CCFC and the people of Coventry.

Tim Fisher and his boss Sisu are playing a very dangerous game with OUR Football Club and the EFL and it's called CALL MY BLUFF.

I'm fearing the worst. Too many people involved with the Sky Blues who are clearly not there for the football.

In June following the 2011/12 season I had a phone call from someone at the Ricoh Arena asking me would I be renewing my season ticket? I said can you tell me what funds the Manager will have for the 2012/13 season? He said I can't, so I said then you won't be getting any of my money. Ann Lucas used to sit right in front of me on the next row. I didn't know who she was at the time but my friend who I sat next to told me.

I wonder if one of you sporty persons can answer a question for me. When Coventry City FC play at the Ricoh what do they do about the markings on the pitch? Is the playing pitch a different size to the rugby playing pitch and are the markings different? Do they have to remark the pitch for every game of football or rugby? I asked my other half this morning and he didn't know and can'find the answer on t'internet.

Yes and yes, Anne. The playing areas are different in size, and obviously the line markings for the two sports are entirely different. So the markings for the sport not being played are usually overwritten(?!) with a dark colour - usually green, although it never actually matches the colour of the grass so they still appear visible, although less so than the required markings for the game in progress. These days, many association football grounds also stage either rugby union or rugby league so it's quite a common occurrence. Grounds like those at Swansea, Huddersfield and Wigan - to name just three - stage both soccer and rugby. Wasps of course came to the Ricoh having played latterly on the same pitch as Wycombe Wanderers FC.

The actual playing areas used are the same for each sport, so the perimeter lines, (goal lines and touchlines), are the same, and the football and rugby posts are put in the same place for both. The try-scoring area is behind the goals, which means there is a large gap behind the goals for football. It is always possible to see the markings for both sports, although they are re-marked for every game.. In fact, there has been some criticism in the past that the football markings are not prominent enough, which I can confirm from when I have been there. The biggest problem is the state of the pitch. Football and rugby pitches have different areas of wear, and the whole pitch is very worn and rough at present. Rugby clubs tend to let the grass grow longer, which is not great for football.

That is quite correct for the Ricoh Arena, which was the subject of Anne's query, but it doesn't apply to all grounds where soccer and rugby both take place - my response was more general than specific to the Ricoh

Sorry MR, I missed your earlier comment so thank you for your reply as well! It all must keep the groundsmen very busy and working the timetable out must be a headache of a job! It is all so different to when my dad used to walk to the corner and catch the Inner Circle to Highfield Road. It is all about business now, nothing to do with football. I believe Burton Albion are playing there tonight which is what prompted the question as our local radio station discuss the Burton matches on the breakfast show. I hope they do good pies, if Coventry lose the match they might do better in Dave Child's pie league.

I must say that I agree Anne, with your statement that it is all about business (money). I have completely lost interest in football in the last 30 or so years as I now think that at all but local park level it is no longer the game I enjoyed playing and watching in my youth. Mind you the same can be said of most 'sport' today, who knows where the money or drugs have interfered in the contest. I must be getting old.

Congratulations to the Blackpool fans a sell-out crowd of 15,800 celebrated getting rid of their unwanted owners after a four year battle. Let's hope us Sky Blue fans can celebrate the same in the near future.

In the 1967/8 season the Sky Blues were playing a midweek game away at Forest and George Curtis clashed with Forest's Frank Wignall and George broke one of his legs. The City physio phoned George's wife to say "George is coming home with a broken leg", to which she replied "Whose is it?" How true that is I'm not sure.

"George broke one of his legs" - I think it's much nearer the truth to say that Wignall broke George's leg. For the record, it was Sky Blues' second ever match in Division I. Bobby Gould came on as a substitute for the injured captain and scored two first half goals to give City a 3-2 halftime lead, the late Ernie Machin scoring the other. Forest equalised in the second half - result 3-3 and a first point in the top flight of English football.
