Croft Road

I think that must be number 43 Croft Road where the ladies are gossiping, my great grandparents shop, and my grandfather (sorry, Albert YARDLEY) lived there for a while. But the picture is some time after the family left. After my grandmother died it was run by several members of the family until the 1920's.

I think the paper has this one wrong. It's more like Croft Road looking west on VE day - similar to the second one I added in post#14 but looking the other way. You can see the Rudge works upper right. The properties on Thomas Street tended to be 3-storey from the ones I have seen -
