I think it's wonderful when somebody (often Anne) can come up with another piece of the jigsaw and tada! we know more than the first bit of evidence. Big grin

Hi Helen, hi all, It's obvious that I'm always going to speak sweetly about Anne, but even sweeter was our adventure many years ago, on the forum, searching for the location of a photo of a working steam roller. Anne nailed it right at the start. That was 2013, Helen. That taught me so much regards website searching. Thank you Anne.

Thanks for those kind words, Philip. Yes, I remember that one, I think it was my first "where is this?". I think there was quite a few of us had a go at that one and it was very enjoyable. Not sure it was ever a unanimous decision as to the location but I think the majority settled on Spon End. Anyway, I really enjoyed looking. I remember when the www was first thought about. We decided that it would not come to anything, who would bother to put information on? How wrong we were! There is not much you cannot find now. Some of it, yes, you have to pay a subscription but it is usually worth it or a lot is just there for the looking, thanks to people like Rob who take time and pleasure in making things like wonderful HC available to us. I have had a lot of pleasure on the internet, especially on this site, found lots of information for my family tree and for others I have done for friends and family, and of course you can always find that little part to mend something that is broken!

This week, my daughter and I celebrate our birthdays a couple of weeks and thirty years apart. Ten years ago, we celebrated our collective 100th birthday (me 65 and Natalie 35). This week we celebrate our 120th. BTW, I had my 100th birthday 25 years ago on a Qantas flight from Sydney to L.A. I left Australia on my 50th birthday, crossed the dateline, and began again. Qantas provided a bottle of champagne in recognition of this rare event!

Thank you so much, that cake looks really nice, Neil, pity it is only virtual. We have celebrated at Fradley Junction (where the Coventry Canal meets the Trent and Mersey) with a sausage and egg batch (refuse to call it a bap) and a lovely ice cream. Had a little walk but still limited to only a few yards as still recovering. Did have a nice meal out on Sunday though with the whole of our immediate family which was the first time in a long time because of Covid fears.
