Hi I'm sorry to jump onto this thread. (New member). I'm wondering if anyone could help me please. Can anyone advise me if there are any records regarding St Faith's and if so where these records are held. I'm wishing to enquire if my late mother was placed into St Faith's. Thank you for your help.

Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking if St Faith's was an RC mother and baby home?

Hello,
You're more than welcome to ask any question within normal decency & respect. I'm grateful for you asking.
I don't recall details of the founding charter, but I know that it was a multi-faith charitable facility.
If you find any topic on the forum of interest, please join in Clare.
Best wishes.

The stigma of illegitimacy often meant many of the children born at St Faith's were given up for Adoption. If this was a possibility in you mother's case that may be an avenue to explore. They wouldn't be open access documents and I think Social Services might be a starting point for any investigation. Whatever the circumstances, good luck with your search.

Yes I agree with Neil, many of the documents are sealed by data protection for many decades. Other avenues of enquiry may be required.

Not sure if I was born at St Faiths but I was homed there for nearly 3 years. Had I reached my third birthday I would have been transferred to Dr. Banados. My birth mother was married when she conceived me after an affair. I am trying to trace any remaining siblings who may still be alive. My mother's name was Daisy Joan Morris and her husband was Charles Robert Morris. I was born in April 1945 and named Victoria. My mother's maiden name was Mills. If there is anyone who may possibly know anything about the above, please contact me. One of my dearest wishes is to have a photo of my mother. Thank you

Given that we've had several people looking for birth information, have any of those looking found out which of the resources available have been helpful? I know that there have been a lot of changes made to help people find their birth families but it's not something that I've had cause to investigate.
