I think you are right Helen, well done. The write up on it says it was bombed 24/25th November but the date on the picture could easily be wrong. It also says the arcades still stood but were dangerous so they were removed.

Certainly looks like it and the crenelated small tower on the right clinches it! Clever Helen.

Helen How do you explain the window is next to the right hand wall with a door below? Your picture has the door below the middle window. Thumbs up

Because my pictures are looking at the side of the church rather along the aisle. I was just demonstrating that the windows and tower had similarities. There are other pictures online. Anne's picture from Google Earth confirms it.

No worries Kaga, that black and white picture has been confusing people for at least 5 years. Thumbs up

Another FB post but I'm not sure I agree on the reported location of Trafalgar Street? Any thoughts anyone?

Janet Jackson (not the famous singer, as far as I know!) has sent in some wartime mystery photos for us to dissect. She thinks they could be in the Northey Road area, specifically Sterling Metals, but as always we do like to dig a bit further into these things, don't we! I've created a new "mystery photo" page on Historic Coventry for anyone who would like to dive in. Smile

I'm keeping the image of Michael's sister being a forum member Rob! Big grin I did think the second image looked like it might be St Peter's in Hillfield's visible upper left but the property on the right does not tie in. Thinking the destruction might be the Singer works. There are some distinctive buildings in the first image which appears to be quite hilly........... more detective work required............ Philip found this image of Sterling Metals some 10 years ago which I have enlarged but I can't tie it up with the view shared -
