Is this a rear view of Kirby House?:

Indeedy MH, joint Royal Mail and GPO Telephones later BT vehicle car park in Salt Lane next to Grey friars & Leofric telephone exchanges. Used to park in it many a time back in the day.

I have a family link to Kirby house, my great great grandmother was a descendent of the Bird Family, silk factory owners and Members of Parliment, who had Kirby house built.

Another cracker thanks to the Coventry Smorgasbord FB page - August 1956: Construction of the new £1,000,000 Telephone Exchange. In the foreground is a monorail which carried trucks of liquid concrete. The Bank of England inflation calculator suggests that £1m in 1956 equated to £21 million in December 2025.
