Indeedy MH, joint Royal Mail and GPO Telephones later BT vehicle car park in Salt Lane next to Grey friars & Leofric telephone exchanges. Used to park in it many a time back in the day.

I have a family link to Kirby house, my great great grandmother was a descendent of the Bird Family, silk factory owners and Members of Parliment, who had Kirby house built.

Another cracker thanks to the Coventry Smorgasbord FB page - August 1956: Construction of the new £1,000,000 Telephone Exchange. In the foreground is a monorail which carried trucks of liquid concrete. The Bank of England inflation calculator suggests that £1m in 1956 equated to £21 million in December 2025. Notice Middlemore's and Little Palace Yard behind............

Interesting capture which appears to have been taken from St Michael's Spire looking down on LPS before it was widened. Particularly the bits remaining behind the Street on the eastern side -

Hello, I don't know. What an observer you are. I know the picture is post 1955, the bus at the back only started to arrive mid fifties. Our friend 20aManor house might add more there. A rain shelter for whoever.
