My grandpa owned a sliver/grey 1960's era Standard. Red trimmed seats I think they were, so polished that when sitting in the back we would slide around when he drove around corners. Lots of chrome on show, he would take engine parts off to give them a clean then put them back on again, the thing had probably driven less than 200 miles in-between the last time.
I spent years working at the Massey Ferguson plant at Banner Lane, I can't remember if I was ever filmed, but I may just be in some footage just like those gentlemen are.

Gumnut think I've mentioned on the forum before but I spent some time Down Under (noticed your location) in the early 90s as my sister was living in Melbourne at the time. Her then husband's family were all expats and all ran old British motors. They have an amazing array of old Triumphs/Standards with garages full of genuine OE parts complete with the original packaging that had obviously been shipped over there from new.

Neils Yard - I spent a few years living in Canberra which host many car shows over the year, German, Italian, Australian and of course British. There were some great old classics mixed in there, also quite a few of the Leylands attempts at cracking the Aus market but ultimately failed, the P76 comes to mind. The car production is slowly dying here, Chinese made vehicles are really pushing hard in to the market.
