I have sent Chris some information about my side of the family. We are second cousins (Hello cousin Chris), our grandparents would have been brothers. I have dug out a little more information about 43 Croft Road which must have been built at the end of the 1800's and probably new when they moved in, they are in the 1901 census. Between 1911 and 1921 all the family who were there in 1911 had left, my grandad had remarried, William the younger had died as had his 2 children, his son killed at Passchendaele and his daughter had died a few weeks before. Chris's family were there in 1921. Having seen Poddy Croft on so many maps it had not dawned on me that was where Croft Road was. It was the first of the roads built across Poddy Croft, hence the name ! You learn something new every day.
I have pinched a BFA Neil posted in 2023 on Rudge Road. Would the building I have circled be 43 Croft Road ? The red mark was pointing out a house on the other end of Rudge Road.
