Ancestry.com has a date of death for Edna Eileen Smith, formerly Garvin, of 18th Septmber 1998 and there is a news clipping showing an Edna Smith as dying that date aged 86 with funeral at Robin Hood cemetery which is in Shirley, Birmingham. However this is inconsistent; the death of Edna Eileen Smith registered that year was in the second quarter (ie. April-June), and was in Havering, London. The birth date of that Edna was recorded as 1923. The only way to clarify which is correct would be to apply for a copy of the death certificate.

Dear everyone thank you so much for possible information about Edna. I still haven't found her. Sadly my Edna Eileen Smith did not pass away in 1998. I have purchased 4 death certificates and they weren't my Edna, Her niece-in-law lives in Coventry. She is Patricia Pittaway and lives in Binley, Don't suppose anyone knows her.
