Great to see some subtle humour in the Coventry Observer's report: "Nigel put his heart and sole into racing and many people shod a tear or two when it came to laying him to rest beneath the old gate one position where he created so many fantastic memories." I assume these are the proof reader's very clever references to the speedway rider's steel shoe!

I am reliably informed that Nigel's ashes are still under the start line at Brandon, and the solicitors for the developers have stated that, if anything is to happen on the site, they will organise their retrieval.

Love this! The names of some great speedway riders with links to the city of Bradford have been adopted as the names of buses in the borough. The latest is Nigel Boocock. Nigel of course embarked on a glittering career in speedway some 66 years ago with the Bradford "Tudors", before moving to Birmingham, Ipswich and then to Coventry. The late Simon Wigg, who rode for "Bees" in 1993, has been similarly recognised.
