A good spot by Adrian James on FB to another one from CliffB. Fretton House (discussed on the forum before) visible on the left, about to disappear for the building of The Belgrade, showing the CET building going up. Not many images of it around.

Fretton House is nice. It always feels extra worse for me when art deco is destroyed.

Hi Neil Great pic. Do you know what year the multi storey car park went up?

Hi Mick. Not exactly sure when it went up but this one shows the opening. The Lord Mayor's car enters the car park and is first through the barriers, 25th June 1962.

Liking this one as it's a great view of the Rex cinema, plus another rare capture of Fretton House.

Does anyone know when Fretton House was built?

Some point between July 1931 and May 1935.

1934, I think

This interesting image popped up on FB. It’s looking SW along Corporation Street. That's The Belgrade on the right which went up late 50's but you can still see the George IV pub standing on Fleet Street in the distance. According to Fred’s Pubs section, that went in 1964 so this must be a very late capture of it.

Thanks to Ken Day on FB. Don’t think I've seen this one of the opening of Corporation Street before.

That's new to me It matches the aerial views about the same time.
