Hello & thank you for sharing that Mike59. I love being out & about. Illness for the second half of last year cramped my style, mental illness at that. I still avoid forward planning, but appear to be ok if I'm asked to help on the current day. It's hard for me to swallow that I've been so restricted, but it is certainly easing now. It's so hard to explain. I even had to stop forum friends from visiting me. Yet today, I had three visitors this morning. The man to cut my toenails, Ringtons & a small grocery delivery. No issue today whatsoever. Cluttered brain syndrome appears to be the best description. I don't receive the hymn information or order of service as now. I turn up & do it. Oddly, there's not been an issue with that. I might have lacked confidence in myself. What a fabulous forum, where two of us here can share quite intimate/personal stuff, yet feel a sense of freedom. I am enjoying a tot of best ruby port, but it's not that which is speaking! It's a new bottle that I've only just opened. Carry on forum.

Hello, "There's none as queer as folk". An expression that I've often heard over the years. I know that I am odd. I love being out & about, but more often than not, with no aim or destination in mind. It may be a physical stretching of my mind. With heat building, as it continues to do this week, bus travel was kept to a minimum. I didn't have many conversations with folk either. I simply enjoyed watching out of the window. I visited George. George is the Stourbridge station cat. Well, there's an excuse of a reason if ever there was one. George's bed can just be seen on top of the tall cabinet. I left home around 10am, returning at 8pm.

So I have rambled all the way to Holy Island.... well not all the way on foot obviously. Lovely place with the priory, the sea views, a castle and a causeway from the mainland. I'm not saying that it was a divine message but the priory was shut. Oh my

Moving aside of religious connotations, I found it to be quite a moving place, not found anywhere else like it.

There is something about ruined religious buildings that is very moving. Castle Acre priory, Shap abbey and of course St Michael's. Amongst many. At the right time of year you can be almost alone with the carved stones, grass, trees and the sky. I find those lonely sites more spiritual than the whole buildings that have survived in other places.

I love Holy Island, only having visited twice, but it still fascinates me. Not just the island itself, but the journey across the causeway. The history behind Lindisfarne Castle is also very interesting.
