Hello lindatee2002, It's what was the butchers shop at the top of Roland Ave fifty years ago. It's two shops to the left of this picture, from the corner of Roland Ave & Parkville Highway.

Oh dear, it's happened again. I enjoyed my prunes first thing, (I was a poorman), you should know what that means, but then this vision of a Sunday morning breakfast loomed large in my mind. Oh dear, it was wonderful.

Hello, I've just returned home after enjoying a slight snack in Cafe Italia. Just a small joint of beef, that's been knighted. Sir. Loin. You won't need a stake knife in Cafe Italia. They know how to do it, even when medium cooked. Oooooooow. I know of posh places that serve sirloin, served with lots of lovely stuff, but I would struggle to get that quality for £21 including the tea pot.

I stand corrected if I am wrong, I thought that looks like the corner of Parkville and Parkgate. When I was on butchers waste collection, there used to be two butcher's shops 50/60 years ago in that block, H Clowes to the left of the tailors in Parkville and Tom Vincent's along to the right in Parkgate.

Philip, how come you know the right places to dine ? Farmer Giles in the Burges used to be our favourite diner. I can't imagine what is there now !!!!

Hello Dreamtime, It often is dreamtime for you when we poms are posting hey. By the way it's soon the last night of the poms. Anyway, I suppose it was my education regards my dinning. My best marks at school were dinner hour. I was never late, couldn't get enough & never left anything ever! Hope you are snoozing away in the land of sweet dreams.
