I attended Woodlands from about 75 to 80. My brothers Mark and David also attended. I generally liked school and did well, but some of the teachers were outright bullies. Rossborough caned me for not turning up for cross country... after School! Big shout out for Jock Edney, top bloke and top English teacher. Always remember Sid Howells, "French teacher"... He had a speech impediment and couldn't understand his English, never mind French! Mr Hill, science teacher, good bloke and Mr Savage, sports teacher excellent. I went onto join the Police, retiring in 2012. I used to live in High Park close.

Ivor Borgen. I left in 1980, Stringer house. Ivor was the future careers master. He lined me up for 2 technical apprenticeships, god knows why. I joined the Police cadets, then Police.

Miss Bacon was gorgeous. I was there from 75/80, Stringer house, my older brothers were Mark and David Abberley, both older than me.

Small, tubby, with glasses. Useless as well, having said that, imagine trying to teach RE!

Jock Edney was a superb English teacher. Same for Mr Savage, sports and Mr Hill, science was a good man. Leather patches on his jacket elbows.

If this was in the 90's, I was night CID and attended and it was arson.

I was just after FrankieS from 1980 to '85. Borgen was my Stringer housemaster until he retired and Cauldwell took over. Don Thompson cleared off in that era as well. I hated Savage - he whacked me over the head with the cane! We all lusted over Miss Taylor in English - and yes Jim Wilkinson was a nutter - used to love eating the chalk?! Also recall Mr Debbage the Maths teacher - a real boffin with mad hair to go with it. Mr Matty was crazy as well - would stare you out face to face and go purple with rage!
