Mike, Many thanks for your positive reply, I have reached out to the Coventry Transport Museum through their press office, still awaiting a reply. I understand that a lot of their historical collection is managed by the Herbert Museum - it's on my list to get booked in to take a look at this. Hoping they may have some researchers that may be able to assist as well.
I have been reading through a lot of the topics on this site, an absolute treasure trove of information so far!
Great tips re. supply chain companies - I haven't given any focus to this yet in my research, but of course they are just as important as the manufacturers in the story.
You're welcome Rob.
Whilst driving along the A45 earlier, another big player in the motor industry that came to mind, was The Torrington Co. Ltd, once on the corner of the A45 and Torrington Ave, now where COSTCO is. They were very involved with steering components for the motor industry, and in their latter years, trialled steering components for the Ford Escort made at Halewood.
With so many podcasts these days, when you do complete the podcast, it would be nice if you could share the link here so those who have contributed, directly or indirectly have the chance to see/hear the finished project.
